Eliatra Offsite Event 2023: Berlin
Roundup of our company offsite event in Berlin during October 2023
The Eliatra team got together for a much anticipated get-together in Berlin during October 2023. The majority of the globally based team was able to make it for the four-day event, and it proved to be a fantastic few days in the Berlin autumn sunshine.
Presentations/Workshops
We convened in the company/partner office located in the Potsdamer Platz area of the city for presentations and workshops each day. Co-founders Jochen and Claudia welcomed everybody to the event, and we had a run-through of the history of the company, areas of interest, and a vision for the future.
David and the Sales team gave an overview of the trends in the different markets globally, including a very interesting insight into how the open source/software market operates in Latin America.
Jochen and Verity gave presentations on marketing strategy, the development and branding of the new website, interactions we are seeing with the current website, visitors to the pages, and the impressions that the Google ads are making.
There was a great presentation on the potential uses of ChatGPT and Large Language Models (LLM) with OpenSearch from Leanne, as well as a demonstration of robotic processes and their application in the industry from Lucas.
In addition to the general beneficial interactions between the different teams, we had a great brain-storming session on what other interesting areas the company could explore, and this proved to be hugely entertaining as well as extremely fruitful with excellent suggestions and interesting topics.
Evening Events
Each day ended with a meal and drinks in carefully chosen Berlin establishments, which proved to be gastronomically delightful and great fun! We dined in some of Berlin’s best restaurants, with a varied and delectable menu provided in each venue.
The drinks were plentiful also, and we had an amazing experience in the top floor cocktail venue of Solar Bar, with amazing panoramic views of the city, and delicious cocktails to boot!
Final Day
The final day activity was a beautiful boat trip on the waterways of Berlin and partly through the city centre via the Spree river. We had breakfast/brunch served in this most beautiful of settings, with all our needs catered to by the excellent staff of the Van Loon Restaurantschiffe team.
The boat journey was both tranquil and energising, with magnificent views along the way, sailing through the Oberbaum bridge, and on past the great dome structures of the Bode Museum and Berlin Cathedral. We finished up our offsite event upon disembarking from the boat, and are already looking forward to the next one!
